Full-Time Assistant Professor
The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an Assistant Professor, tenure track, physician, faculty member. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting original research on endocarditis, other endovascular infection and infections transmitted by injection drug use with a focus on the domestic setting. The position includes inpatient Infectious Diseases consultation and patient care, approximately 2 months per year and outpatient General Infectious Diseases care. Teaching and mentoring of Infectious Diseases post-doctoral fellows and instruction of medical residents and students in the context of clinical care.
MD or DO, Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Infectious Diseases. Must have completed Internal Medicine residency program and Infectious Diseases fellowship program.
Established research experience in Infectious Diseases in endovascular infections or infection in the setting of injection drug use is required. Evidence of successful research funding is preferred. Clinical experience and interest in general Infectious Diseases in the in-patient and outpatient setting is required. Interest in care of HIV and infections associated with injection drug use is also preferred.
