Job Summary and Expectations:
Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Physician to perform inpatient and outpatient services in the OB/GYN Department, Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital (BJACH), Fort Polk, Louisiana. Board certified a plus. Perform required in and outpatient services, ante partum care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, emergency care and gynecology surgery. The physician shall perform examination and treatment of authorized Department of Defense beneficiaries according to the daily clinic schedule or as required by the Chief, OB/GYN Clinic, and provide diagnostic consultation related to care to the other members of the medical staff.
OB/GYN Physician shall be competent, qualified and adequately trained to perform assigned duties. OB/GYN Physician services shall be performed at military treatment facility and maintain a high level of quality. OB/GYN Physician shall have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose, treat and perform (to include, but not limited to) the following: Well Woman Screening, Oral Contraceptive Screening and Prescriptions, Diaphragm Fitting, Evaluation and Treatment of Menstrual Irregularities, Evaluation and Treatment of Vulva, Vaginal, and Cervical Abnormalities, Breast Examination and Breast Masses. OB/GYN Physician shall have sufficient experience to be able to perform the following medical procedures to include, but not limited to: Cryosurgery, Colposcopy, Endometrial and Cervical Biopsies, Removal of Venereal Warts, Incision and Drainage of Perineal and/or Valvar Abscess, Removal of Cervical Polyps, Biopsy of Cervix, Endometrium of Valva, Dilation and Curettage (including Vacuum), Drainage/Marsupialization of Bartholin Cyst, Venipuncture, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
b) 4 years; at least two years’ OB/GYN experience within the last five years and shall have had at least one year’s experience on a civilian or military hospital staff
c) Unrestricted license to practice medicine from one of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands and a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number (certification).
