Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Description: This position is located in the both the Patient Assistance Progam (PAP) of Austin Travis County Integral Care and the Integral Care Pharmacy. PAP’s primary purpose is to obtain formerly medications prescribed to patients through application to appropriate pharmaceutical providers, and to assist in the control, inventory, and dispensing of such medications. Coordinates the receiving,storing and issuing of PAP paperwork.Review medications in the EHR and reconciles medications for request from PAP programs. May train others. Answers inquires regarding PAP policies and procedures from clients, providers and nursing. Review data entry, data retrieval and data searches. Work is performed under moderate administrative supervision consisting of program goals, schedules, and broad guidance. The employee exercises independence in completing tasks in accordance with established procedures, referring disapproved medication requests to the pharmacist/supervisor. Technical guidance, review and oversight is also provided by the assigned Pharmacist in the dispensing of medications to patients and other Pharmacy operations. Meets and/or exceeds unit employee performance standards including efficiency and attendance expectations. Enter client medication information and directions for use into several different databases. Receive medication orders from providers, prepare labels for medication distribution Reasonably regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. Integral Care Pharmacy responsibilities as a Texas pharmacy technician. Three years of progressively responsible experience in general office administrative work, plus one year of experience in a pharmacy or clinical environment is preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.
License: Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas required. Current and valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with flexibility.
Salary: $2,670 monthly.
