Great Job Posting secrets
The difference between finding mediocre candidates and extraordinary candidates starts with a clear and good job posting.
1). Add Keywords
Because the majority of candidates search for available positions using keywords, make sure you use all relevant keywords in your job posting. The entire text of the job, including the title, description, benefits, and company name are searched for instances of the keyword on job boards.
1). Add Job Tags
For the same reason above, make use of adding Job tags. This is an option when posting your jobposting.
3). Use Familiar Job Titles (for google and potential canidates)
The job title is the very first thing that a job seeker sees. They will make a snap judgment, and either move on or read the details of your description. Therefore it’s important that your title makes the right first impression by showing that your job is relevant and of interest.
4). Check out what others are doing, and do it better.
One way to determine how to position your company’s strengths is to see how competitors do it. Look at the career sites of major companies. Search for jobs similar to yours and glean them for ideas. How could you make your job posting more compelling than your competitors?
5). Cover all of the job’s key elements.
A job is so much more than a set of tasks. After reading your job posting, applicants should clearly understand all aspects of what the position entails. Consider these three areas and define the elements under each category:
1). Overarching long-term goals
2). Regular tasks and responsibilities
3). Coworkers, clients and organizations the employee would interact with6). Associate Jobs with Multiple Industries
Many candidates search by industry on job boards. You should link your job posting with multiple industries. For example, if you are recruiting for a HR Manager for a hospital, you should link you job to the healthcare, recruitment, and HR industries. This will allow candidates to bring your job up in more searches.
7). Avoid being seen as spam.
Don’t use ALL CAPS because that’s like yelling at the job seekers. Similarly avoid the use of other symbols that are purely meant to grab attention without substance.
8). Show Off Your Brand
Placing your logo on your job posting gives your company more credibility, and it will enhance brand recognition in the future. Be sure to describe any stellar corporate attributes. For instance, if your company is known for its excellent employee culture, its industry leadership, or its fantastic products, provide details about those assets.
